• The Last Leg

    Middlesbrough to South Gare, Redcar

    11 miles approximately

The last day of the walk dawned with the Middlesbrough skyline rising from the River Tees now intent on it's exit into the North Sea. Typical urban scenery came into focus as if rising from deep slumbers and stirring itself into action. The heavy industry for which Middlesbrough is famous will be a constant in the walk today scheduled for back alleys, cuts through industrial workings and railway sidings.

Ultimately concluded at the South Gare breakwater pointing out into the North Sea...a truly fitting end to The Teesdale Way.
