    Rosedale Head circular

Distance: 8 miles Time: 4 hours approximately Terrain: Easy going

Each day I drive to work and gaze at the distant North York Moors. I admit that the area has little or no interest but this always changes, and I feel I should explore deeper, when I drive through the area . The Coast to Coast walk, Cleveland Way and Lyke Wake Walk have taken me this way before but this tends to hug the Western and Northern escarpments.

Today is a day to explore the interior beginning at the small village of Rosedale Abbey and skirting the North-Eastern side of the dale along the old ironstone railway before returning along the South- Western side of the dale in the shade of the setting sun.
