• Rogan's Seat

Rogan's Seat lies in a remote position in the high Pennines above the village of Gunnerside in Swaledale, North Yorkshire. The view from the top is little to write home about but the climb up through relics of lead mining in Gunnerside Gill is one of complete interest.

Leaving the pretty village of Gunnerside in Spring like conditions with flowers blooming, trees about to burst into leaf and the air thronging to birdsong; the heart soars. The gentle ascent leads upstream of the gill through stunted trees, rising and falling to reach the first of the industrial relics, these fascinating buildings and spoil heaps continue as the gill narrows until a footbridge is reached just north of North Hush.
