    Kirkwhelpington to Rothbury (15 miles)

    Rothbury to Warkworth (18 miles)

There is something about the Spring that makes the heart leap and dance and the spirits sing. Perhaps it is the long awaited exit from the cold temperatures and the dark nights of Winter, the reaffirmation of new life or just a general feeling of well-being based on all the previous?

Kirkwhelpington to Knowesgate is attendant with the busy A698 before a series of tidy well-kept farms lead out into more open countryside.
